First Lesson of Military Training
When the leaves turn from green to yellow, the weather turns from hot to cool and the calendar opens to August and crosses off the 20th, I have been in Anqing Foreign Language School for two days. As Madam President said at the opening ceremony of the military training program, from today on, I was not only a student, but also a soldier.
To begin with, military training should be one of the things that I looked forward to during the summer vacation, but there was a little worry in the expectation. Due to my poor physical condition and frequent illness, I was worried that I would have various problems during the military training. However, it seemed to be okay at present fortunately. One of the things that always got us excited about military training was the instructors. Before the training started, I thought about what our instructor would be like, tall or short, fat or thin... It turned out that the instructor I met today was not that different from what I expected. He was a little thin and tall. Maybe it was the first time that we met each other, he seemed a bit ‘shy’ and did not speak loudly. In my understanding, soldiers are supposed to be serious and speak loudly, which makes people admire them.
To be specific, on the first day of the military training, we basked ourselves in the sunshine all morning, learned martial arts, stood a pose of soldier and learnt some basics that a soldier should know. Though the weather changed on a dime, luckily the temperature was not high. Our teacher said, ‘You can do what others can!’ I quite agreed. When it rained, we sat in the rain. It felt strange when the rain slowly dropped on you. Then it dripped down on your face, your neck, all parts of your body and evaporated off your skin, which we experienced and enjoyed.
I think in the future military training days, we will encounter more interesting things and experience the feelings that we have not experienced before. During this period, we will gradually get to know the teachers, classmates and instructors, which will lay a foundation for us to get along in the next three years.
On the whole, military training is the prelude to the senior high school life. Only through experiencing and learning the hardworking spirit in the military training, can the school life become more wonderful. For the sake of my splendid future, I enjoy these fascinating days!
